Bruno Mars rocks in Manila leg of his The Moonshine Jungle concert tour

US songwriter and singer Bruno Mars’ Saturday night gig at SM Mall of Asia Arena just lasted a bit more than an hour. Still he dazzles every spectator who was present at the show. The gig got nonstop roars of approval as well as loud sing-alongs.

The 28 year old Hawaiian music artist set the tone of the night with Moonshine, which is a mid tempo disco pop song from his 2nd album named Unorthodox Jukebox. His show was a part of his current world tour - The Moonshine Jungle.

Supported by The Hooligans, his bouncy live band, Bruno sustained his energy with Nathalie before asking his thousands of fans to put their smartphones for sometime and shake their hips with the rocky beats of Treasure.

Bruno, whose real name is Peter Gene Hernandez, went on with a medley of I Need a Dollar, Billionaire and Money (That’s What I Want). After that, he sampled R. Kelly’s Ignition, Ghost Town DJ’s My Boo and Ginuwine’s Pony in another set-up.

Earsplitting screams traveled through air when Brono Mars sang Marry You and changed a few words of its lyrics. On When I Was Your Man, Bruno told that this was the toughest track for him to write and sing.

Mars thanked the spectators and he told that they have no idea how much this means to him. Performing there, being a Filipino, and seeing his people. Like earlier, he again promised that he would be back here soon. Just a day before the gig, Bruno, who was born to a Filipino mom and Puerto Rican father, donated a $ 100000 check to Yolanda survivors through a local charity foundation.
